Weekend at Grandma and Grandpas

This last weekend we went to Grandma and Grandpa Saviks house! We had so much fun! The boys love to go because they get spoiled, but I guess that is the grandparents job right!!

Aunt Lynny and Makenna flew in from Phoenix, and Aunt Angie and her boyfriend Cort drove from Vegas. We haven't seen either of them for a while so it was good to have them there. The boys love their Aunts. Makenna was so cute with Cuatro! She is a mother in the making. She walked around the house talking in her own language and singing songs. She is a very smart little girl!

On Saturday afternoon the three older boys, Makenna, Aunt Lynny, Grandpa, and Big Boy all went sledding. They had so much fun! Uno was such a good helper with Makenna. Tres went down once and took a nose dive into the snow and had nothing more to do with sledding! Dos spent most of his time making his own sledding trails. Thanks Grandpa!

Julie loves to dance and have a good party so when she caught wind of a Mardi Gras party she was so excited to have her family there to go! I will have to say that when Lynny and I found out that is was fancy get all dressed up type of deal, we were less then excited to go. Julie did a great job at dressing us up and getting us excited though! It was a lot of fun! I thought I would just sit on the side lines with pregnant Lynny and enjoy the free cranberry juice in sprite but when we got there I couldn't help myself, I had to get up and dance!!! I found out very fast that I am a little rusty in my dance skills. We didn't dance like that when I was in high school :) Thanks Julie for the fun night!

Helmet Head!!!

So we battled the nasty weather ( 8 inches of new snow) and finally got his helmet on today! From the first appointment with the plastic surgeon to the helmet actually being done it took 5 weeks. Good thing it wasn't anything life threatening. It doesn't seem to bother him much! I have seen him playing with the strap a few times. The first thing his brothers did when they saw him was knocked on his head! He will have this on for at least 6 weeks and he has to wear it 23/7. I take him back in on the 3rd of March to make sure it isn't causing any sores on the pressure spots. I was informed that the first night or two can be a little rough, let's just pray he does okay! Isn't he just cute!!

Who came up with the tooth fairy anyway????

Uno has become such a pro at pulling his own teeth out. He came home from school on day with a tooth in a baggy and said he just pulled it out during math! I'm sure that the 2 times mom and dad went and pulled out the pliers was enough for him. He just take matters into his own hands now! Wednesday the 11th Uno pulled another one of his front teeth out! He was so excited because he knows what happens when he looses a tooth! He told me he was going to put in a baggy and hang it on the fridge so the tooth fairy seems to not make it when he puts it under his pillow. I was totally fine with this, may be it would help the tooth fairy remember! Not so much!!!! Thursday morning Uno come s and crawls into bed with me! At this point I have no idea if he has gone to the kitchen to check or if he just came straight to my room. I was expecting a "Hi mom!" or I'm hungry mom" but instead I got. "Mom, if the tooth fairy forgot to come I'm going to be pissed!!!" GAH!! I forgot....I mean the tooth fairy forgot!! Again!!! Yes again. Out of his 8 teeth that he has lost I....I mean the tooth fairy has fogotten 6 of them! So at this point I've told him once again that the tooth fairy is really busy, don't be mad! Dos has now joined us in my bed and the two of them are comming up with every possible solution of why the tooth fairy didn't show! My favorite "she is really tiny, and she probably got stuck in the snow!!!" I'm telling you that laying there with your eyes closed like your asleep does not make the guilty feeling go away!! Thank goodness the toothe fairy made her way out of the snow and got there before school got out! Uno was so excited to find his dollar in his bag! I think I should write to this tooth fairy and tell her she owes my son a late fee!!!

FYI

Yes I know I should have typed this all in my very first "introducing family" post, but I didn't. I was way to excited to get our blog up and running. So I decided to do a 2nd update post, a more detailed look into the family of six. Just look at it as a "For Your Information" post!!!

Big Boy is a busy man being the provider of this family! He has a great job right now that allows him to continue his education, (thank you company tuition reimbursement). We are hoping he will be done in the next year or two! He is also very busy being a family man! He LOVES to spend time with the boys. One thing they all have a love for is the outdoors. Summer time is a very dirty time at our house. When big boy is not at work, doing homework, or fulfilling his husband/father responsibilities, he is busy with his new calling as the 2nd counselor in the Bishopric. He has taken his calling and just ran with it!

Little Lady is busy being a house mom and wife! I'm also busy running my own daycare out of my home! It is a lot of work chasing kids all day but I really enjoy it. It also gives me the chance to be home while my kids are still young. I've also taken a liking to working out at the gym. Let's just call it my "me time!" If I could just eat healthier, I'd be set! :) Currently I am the Relief Society chorister and the Activity day girls coordinator in my ward. Believe me it is a nice brake from my last calling as Primary President!

Uno is in 1st grade this year and he LOVES his teacher. He is very smart! We have encouraged him to not do homework on Sundays so when he forgets to finish his work on Friday or Saturday he will wake himself up early Monday morning to get it done before school starts. Some highlights from this past summer that you might enjoy to hear. Spencer got his first broken arm. You can see it in the 1st pic above! Although the injury itself was not fun he thought his cast was the coolest! How did he do this? You should ask Big Boy. Let's just say that when you are swinging on a swing set and you are in mid air, you should not listen to dad when he yells "JUMP!" Uno also mastered riding his bike without training wheels. We are looking forward to uno getting baptized this summer! He is growing so fast!

Dos is in Preschool this year and he is 5 years old. He can't wait to go to school with his older brother nest year! He can right his name and recognizes most of his letters. He can count to 26 and knows 13 different colors. I love watching him learn! I've mentioned that he doesn't like his older bro to out do him. Last summer when we took the training wheels off of uno's bike dos wanted his off too. He took off like a pro. If he feel over, he would just hop up and take off again!

Tres will be three this April. He loves Barney and Buzz Lightyear! He has mastered day potty training and has almost mastered getting himself dressed. I only have to remind him where the tags go on his clothes. It never fails to crack my up when he comes out in his underwear that are on backwards wondering why his little cheeks are hanging out!

Cuatro just turned 6months. He has found his hands and toes and loves to put them in his mouth. He loves to reach for everything in sight! One thing he is not crazy about is baby food. I've made several attempts to introduce solids, but he would rather stick with formula! I can no longer leave him on the bed by himself because he figured out how to roll from back to tummy! Next milestone we are working on is to get him to sit up!

ENT, Cranial Molding, and 6 month well check.....Oh My!!!!

When it comes to Cuatro and medical concerns all I have to say is "Thank goodness for health insurance!!!" He has always been a really stuffy baby. I thought maybe he got a cold (without the cough) when he was first brought home that he just couldn't kick. I tried everything from the snot sucker to sleeping every night with the humidifier on, to propping his bed up by his head. Nothing seemed to help, in fact he was getting worse. Finally about 3 weeks ago we were referred to an Ear Nose Throat specialist. This is one doctor visit I'm glad Big Boy had to take him to. The doc had to numb Cuatro's nose and feed a tube up his nose and out his mouth. Cuatro freaked, as you can imagine!! What we found from this not so pleasant procedure is that he has very large adenoids. We also found out that he is to young to have them removed. So the doctor put him on a steroid nasal spray and an acid reflux medicine for six weeks. The reflux med. is to help prevent acid going up into his nasal area, which can cause irration and the steroid is to help shrink the adenoids. He seems to be doing well on these meds. He will go back the first part of March to have another look and possibly schedule adenoid removal. Cuatro is also dealing with a slight case of flat head!! I noticed it when he was about 2 1/2 months old. I tried everything to get him to lay on his left side. I even took him to a "witch" doctor! Big Boy keeps wondering when he is going to turn into a toad. We ended up taking him to a plastic surgeon who diagnosed him with Torticolis. That is a tightening of the muscle in the neck, which causes them to favor on side. He is in the process of getting a helmet to help with the flat spot which he will get on the 17th of this month and we are doing physical therapy to help his neck. On the good note. he had his 6month appt. today an he is growing like a weed. He is 17 1/2 pounds and is 27 inches long. He is such a happy, bubbly little boy and although he has cost more medically in his short life then any of our other children we love him and are so grateful to have him in our family!
