Uno's Baptism!!!

I can't believe Uno is Eight!!! His Birthday was on Friday July 31, 2009 and He was Baptized Saturday August 1, 2009! He was so excited to be able to be baptized. The Stake Primary Presidency interview him and asked him some questions so they could spotlight him. He told him that his favorite scripture story is when Nephi brakes his bow. His favorite part about Primary is Sharing time. He wants to be Baptized so he can live with Heavenly Father again, and his Favorite Primary song is "Once there was a snowman" :) We are so proud of him!!! We had a little Birthday party for him with some of the family. These are some of his cousins!
Grandma Savik gave him a book that will help him remember his Baptism, and Grandma Miller gave him a ctr tie pin to help him remember to choose the right!! She also got him his scout book and uniform! He probably read through his whole book that first night!! He is so excited to be in scouts!

His favorite gift was from his Grandpa Savik! He gave him 50 one dollar bills to go open a savings account for his mission! Big Man took Uno just last week (aug,13,2009) to open up his account! He has mad it a goal to put one dollar every week in his account!

Summer Time Fun!!!!

I know I haven't been very good at this blogging thing!!!

In July Little Lady and Big Man took work off for a week of fun! How is this possible with 4 little boys??? Send them to a very excited Aunt Julie (or duley as trec refers to her). While mom and dad were 4 wheeling in Marysvale Utah the boys spent a full week with their Aunt. They had so much fun!!!
Here are some of their highlights from the week!

The boys LOVE to swim!! Sometimes I wonder if I'm raising the next Micheal Phelps! Veterans Pool in Provo was just the spot to cool them off and have lots of fun! Little mama actually got to enjoy this adventure with them!

Fun at the park down the street from Grandma Saviks house!

The boys did more hiking and bike riding this week then any week this summer!!! They were excited to drag Grandpa Savik along!!

Julie was so excited to make playdough for the boys!! Of course the boys were equally excited !! They were entertained for hours!

Their fav thing of the whole week was the Dinosaur museum!! They talked about this for weeks after coming home!!!

THANK YOU Aunt Duley!!! We love you!

What have we been up to????

I forget how busy life gets when the school year is coming to an end and summer is about to start! I am sure that it only gets worse the older your children get!

Dos graduated from preschool last week. He loved his teacher, Ms. Nicole, and will miss her. He did such a good job singing in his program they have been working on all year! He has learned so much and is ready to start kindergarten next year!

The boys have been so excited to be able to play outside with their friends. They love to put the sprinkler under the tramp and get wet. They are all little water monkeys. Cuatro loves to run his fingers in the grass. I am waiting for him to figure out how to pull it out and eat it!! He was blessed with daddies sweating ability. 5 minutes in the sun and he looks like he has been playing in water. I gave him his first hair cut last week to help cool him off. I cut a good 1/2 inch off and he still has a head full of hair!
I'm grateful for a father who had a love for gardening. I remember as a little girl sitting out in the peas pulling weeds and eating the peas when dad wasn't looking! He has been so great to make sure I get my garden started on time so my family can enjoy the fruits of our (his) labor!!!

We have lived in this house for 3 years. Every year I grumble and whine about the fact that all the walls are white! With 4 kids and a daycare they get dirty fast! We always "talked" about painting but never found the right time to do it!! Well when Big Boy took the 3 older boys on the wards father-son camp out, I found the time!! Down the hall, the living room and part of the basement are all painted brown. As you can see I got very daring and painted my entry-way wall red!! I LOVE IT! Our house now feels more like a home, and I'm sure as soon as I get the picture on the wall it will be even better! Best of all Big Boy was really surprised and he loves it also!!!
The bad thing about my painting weekend is that I had a cough and achy body I didn't take care of. At the time I didn't realize that I had pnemonia and a sinus infection. 18 days later I'm still coughing and am now trying to heal some cracked ribs from coughing so hard! Was it all worth it?????? YES!!!!

Cuatro's surgery

Thursday March 24th Cuatro had his surgery. He was scheduled to have his adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. We had to be to the hospital at 6:30a.m but of course I was up before then because I was so nervous for my baby! The doc came in and gave me the run down of what was going to happen and we sent him into surgery at 7:45a.m. According to the doc he should have been back to me by 8:30, but 9:15 rolled around and I hadn't even heard from the doc. I was so glad to have my mom there to keep my nerves calm.
The doctor finally came in about 9:30 a.m. and informed me that the surgery itself went well, his adenoids were HUGE,and he had fluid behind his ear, but cuatro was not coming out of the anesthetic. He said that he was on oxygen and that he would have to stay a little longer for observation.

He was so out of it when they finally brought him to me! My poor baby was clueless to his surroundings. Around 4p.m he was still not well enough to come home so we talked about admitting him over night for more observation and to make sure all the anesthetic was out of his system. I was not crazy about having to stay over night but better safe then sorry right. He got to a point where we could take the oxygen off while he was awake but when he would go to sleep his oxygen level would drop, so back on oxygen he would go!
Finally at 7p.m that had us in a room in the pediatric unit. My little sister stayed with me and she was more than willing to snuggle with cuatro so I could get some rest!

We were so excited that by noon the 25th he was doing much better and ready to come home. we had to wait for the doc to discharge us. That night we both slept 12 hrs, we were exhausted!

He is doing so good! It is amazing how much happier he is! He laughs all the time. The day we can home he started to sit-up! He is more responsive! I love my new baby!

Learning the hard way!

Things Uno has learned in the past week!
Dos's head is hard....very hard and running into his head with your face may cause bruising!!!

Throwing a play pirate sword up in the air will cause a hole in your head when it comes down point first!!

Brotherly Love!!!

Need I explain!!!

Zzzz!!

Apparently Tres doesn't get enough sleep on Sundays! Church starts at 9 for us and he is more then ready for a nap when it is over at 12. The problem is that he is also very hungry after church and he would much rather eat than sleep! So by dinner time this is what we find! Poor Kid!

Taking the easy way around!!

So I can't figure out how to put a video and write about it in the same post without the video turning black so this is the "caption" (is that what they call it?) for the Fishin in the dark post below!!!

(turn off music player before pushing play)
That video was takin in November 2008 (i think) at grandma and grandpa's house! Tres loves to sing and I'm always amazed at how fast he learns the words!! I had to put this on here when I ran across it today. It brings back some fun memories!

family news:
Cuatro is scheduled to have his adnoids removed on March 26th. He ended up with double ear infections this week so I called and moved the date up!!!! So he will also have tubes put in his ears on the same day! I can't wait to have a non-snorty/stuffy/snoring baby! I'm sure he will be happy to beable to breathe through his nose and not have pain in his ears!

Little update!!!!

We took Cuatro back the the ENT, and we are for sure looking at having his adenoids removed. The doctor also found fluid behind his ears (which wasn't there 6 weeks ago) so we are going to play another waiting game. Some babies will have fluid in their ears and it will just go away on its own but some it will not! The doctor wants to wait another 6 weeks to see if the fluid will go away. If is does then we will just schedule to have his adenoids removed then end of April, if it doesn't go away we will also have tubes put in at the same time! If any ear infections or his stuffiness get worse before then we will schedule his surgery sooner. I'm hoping he will at least make it till he gets his helmet off!!!!

In other news....When you are the mother of 4 boys you are destined to have a calling in the scouting program!! Yep you are looking at the new Bears leader in the cub scouts. I'm way excited! It is a goal of mine to have all of my boy be Eagle Scouts, what better way to help me with my goal than to have this calling!

You think you're a what????

We went to grandma and grandpa Millers yesterday after church for a visit. One of the things that is so fun about their house is that they have a dress up drawer. It has about any imaginable costume in there. Uno was one scary looking pirate, but I wasn't scared because my power ranger dos would save me. Now trec on the other hand was so proud when he came running in the kitchen where we were all playing cards, and announced that he was a princess!!! Yes he had found a nice gold colored princess dress and new we didn't have those at our house so he had to try it on. Big boy was less than impressed. He tried to explain to the very proud trec that princess are for girls. I've never seen tears form in trec's eyes so fast. His closing statement "Daddy!!! I'm not a girl, I'm a princess!!!!" I think we need to add a Prince costume to grandmas drawer!

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpas

This last weekend we went to Grandma and Grandpa Saviks house! We had so much fun! The boys love to go because they get spoiled, but I guess that is the grandparents job right!!

Aunt Lynny and Makenna flew in from Phoenix, and Aunt Angie and her boyfriend Cort drove from Vegas. We haven't seen either of them for a while so it was good to have them there. The boys love their Aunts. Makenna was so cute with Cuatro! She is a mother in the making. She walked around the house talking in her own language and singing songs. She is a very smart little girl!

On Saturday afternoon the three older boys, Makenna, Aunt Lynny, Grandpa, and Big Boy all went sledding. They had so much fun! Uno was such a good helper with Makenna. Tres went down once and took a nose dive into the snow and had nothing more to do with sledding! Dos spent most of his time making his own sledding trails. Thanks Grandpa!

Julie loves to dance and have a good party so when she caught wind of a Mardi Gras party she was so excited to have her family there to go! I will have to say that when Lynny and I found out that is was fancy get all dressed up type of deal, we were less then excited to go. Julie did a great job at dressing us up and getting us excited though! It was a lot of fun! I thought I would just sit on the side lines with pregnant Lynny and enjoy the free cranberry juice in sprite but when we got there I couldn't help myself, I had to get up and dance!!! I found out very fast that I am a little rusty in my dance skills. We didn't dance like that when I was in high school :) Thanks Julie for the fun night!

Helmet Head!!!

So we battled the nasty weather ( 8 inches of new snow) and finally got his helmet on today! From the first appointment with the plastic surgeon to the helmet actually being done it took 5 weeks. Good thing it wasn't anything life threatening. It doesn't seem to bother him much! I have seen him playing with the strap a few times. The first thing his brothers did when they saw him was knocked on his head! He will have this on for at least 6 weeks and he has to wear it 23/7. I take him back in on the 3rd of March to make sure it isn't causing any sores on the pressure spots. I was informed that the first night or two can be a little rough, let's just pray he does okay! Isn't he just cute!!

Who came up with the tooth fairy anyway????

Uno has become such a pro at pulling his own teeth out. He came home from school on day with a tooth in a baggy and said he just pulled it out during math! I'm sure that the 2 times mom and dad went and pulled out the pliers was enough for him. He just take matters into his own hands now! Wednesday the 11th Uno pulled another one of his front teeth out! He was so excited because he knows what happens when he looses a tooth! He told me he was going to put in a baggy and hang it on the fridge so the tooth fairy seems to not make it when he puts it under his pillow. I was totally fine with this, may be it would help the tooth fairy remember! Not so much!!!! Thursday morning Uno come s and crawls into bed with me! At this point I have no idea if he has gone to the kitchen to check or if he just came straight to my room. I was expecting a "Hi mom!" or I'm hungry mom" but instead I got. "Mom, if the tooth fairy forgot to come I'm going to be pissed!!!" GAH!! I forgot....I mean the tooth fairy forgot!! Again!!! Yes again. Out of his 8 teeth that he has lost I....I mean the tooth fairy has fogotten 6 of them! So at this point I've told him once again that the tooth fairy is really busy, don't be mad! Dos has now joined us in my bed and the two of them are comming up with every possible solution of why the tooth fairy didn't show! My favorite "she is really tiny, and she probably got stuck in the snow!!!" I'm telling you that laying there with your eyes closed like your asleep does not make the guilty feeling go away!! Thank goodness the toothe fairy made her way out of the snow and got there before school got out! Uno was so excited to find his dollar in his bag! I think I should write to this tooth fairy and tell her she owes my son a late fee!!!

FYI

Yes I know I should have typed this all in my very first "introducing family" post, but I didn't. I was way to excited to get our blog up and running. So I decided to do a 2nd update post, a more detailed look into the family of six. Just look at it as a "For Your Information" post!!!

Big Boy is a busy man being the provider of this family! He has a great job right now that allows him to continue his education, (thank you company tuition reimbursement). We are hoping he will be done in the next year or two! He is also very busy being a family man! He LOVES to spend time with the boys. One thing they all have a love for is the outdoors. Summer time is a very dirty time at our house. When big boy is not at work, doing homework, or fulfilling his husband/father responsibilities, he is busy with his new calling as the 2nd counselor in the Bishopric. He has taken his calling and just ran with it!

Little Lady is busy being a house mom and wife! I'm also busy running my own daycare out of my home! It is a lot of work chasing kids all day but I really enjoy it. It also gives me the chance to be home while my kids are still young. I've also taken a liking to working out at the gym. Let's just call it my "me time!" If I could just eat healthier, I'd be set! :) Currently I am the Relief Society chorister and the Activity day girls coordinator in my ward. Believe me it is a nice brake from my last calling as Primary President!

Uno is in 1st grade this year and he LOVES his teacher. He is very smart! We have encouraged him to not do homework on Sundays so when he forgets to finish his work on Friday or Saturday he will wake himself up early Monday morning to get it done before school starts. Some highlights from this past summer that you might enjoy to hear. Spencer got his first broken arm. You can see it in the 1st pic above! Although the injury itself was not fun he thought his cast was the coolest! How did he do this? You should ask Big Boy. Let's just say that when you are swinging on a swing set and you are in mid air, you should not listen to dad when he yells "JUMP!" Uno also mastered riding his bike without training wheels. We are looking forward to uno getting baptized this summer! He is growing so fast!

Dos is in Preschool this year and he is 5 years old. He can't wait to go to school with his older brother nest year! He can right his name and recognizes most of his letters. He can count to 26 and knows 13 different colors. I love watching him learn! I've mentioned that he doesn't like his older bro to out do him. Last summer when we took the training wheels off of uno's bike dos wanted his off too. He took off like a pro. If he feel over, he would just hop up and take off again!

Tres will be three this April. He loves Barney and Buzz Lightyear! He has mastered day potty training and has almost mastered getting himself dressed. I only have to remind him where the tags go on his clothes. It never fails to crack my up when he comes out in his underwear that are on backwards wondering why his little cheeks are hanging out!

Cuatro just turned 6months. He has found his hands and toes and loves to put them in his mouth. He loves to reach for everything in sight! One thing he is not crazy about is baby food. I've made several attempts to introduce solids, but he would rather stick with formula! I can no longer leave him on the bed by himself because he figured out how to roll from back to tummy! Next milestone we are working on is to get him to sit up!

ENT, Cranial Molding, and 6 month well check.....Oh My!!!!

When it comes to Cuatro and medical concerns all I have to say is "Thank goodness for health insurance!!!" He has always been a really stuffy baby. I thought maybe he got a cold (without the cough) when he was first brought home that he just couldn't kick. I tried everything from the snot sucker to sleeping every night with the humidifier on, to propping his bed up by his head. Nothing seemed to help, in fact he was getting worse. Finally about 3 weeks ago we were referred to an Ear Nose Throat specialist. This is one doctor visit I'm glad Big Boy had to take him to. The doc had to numb Cuatro's nose and feed a tube up his nose and out his mouth. Cuatro freaked, as you can imagine!! What we found from this not so pleasant procedure is that he has very large adenoids. We also found out that he is to young to have them removed. So the doctor put him on a steroid nasal spray and an acid reflux medicine for six weeks. The reflux med. is to help prevent acid going up into his nasal area, which can cause irration and the steroid is to help shrink the adenoids. He seems to be doing well on these meds. He will go back the first part of March to have another look and possibly schedule adenoid removal. Cuatro is also dealing with a slight case of flat head!! I noticed it when he was about 2 1/2 months old. I tried everything to get him to lay on his left side. I even took him to a "witch" doctor! Big Boy keeps wondering when he is going to turn into a toad. We ended up taking him to a plastic surgeon who diagnosed him with Torticolis. That is a tightening of the muscle in the neck, which causes them to favor on side. He is in the process of getting a helmet to help with the flat spot which he will get on the 17th of this month and we are doing physical therapy to help his neck. On the good note. he had his 6month appt. today an he is growing like a weed. He is 17 1/2 pounds and is 27 inches long. He is such a happy, bubbly little boy and although he has cost more medically in his short life then any of our other children we love him and are so grateful to have him in our family!

"What's gonna work...Team Work!!!"

I have always been so blessed to have a husband that is always willing to help out with our kids. Big Boy does more than his fair share when it comes to those not so pleasant things like diapering, messes after meal time ect.. It has been my goal to give our boys opportunities that will help them as they get older and start families of their own! Uno and Dos love to help take care of Cuatro. I have only found them putting the bottle up Cuatro's nose once or twice because they were paying more attention to the television then to their brother. I'm very proud of how much Uno and Dos cares about their brothers. Last night was icing on the cake. Big Boy and Little Lady were in the office playing on the many website we love to surf, when Uno came in with a diaper only Cuatro. With a big smile on his face he informed us that Cuatro had peed through his diaper and clothes. Uno took it upon himself to get the wet clothes off his brother and change his diaper. He did a dang good job. No body parts were hanging out the sides, the tags were in the front and it was on tight enough that the diaper stayed on when Cuatro was standing!!! We gave our approved appreciation and Uno left the room. 5 minutes later Big Boy suggest to Uno and Dos that they finish getting Cuatro ready for bed. It was a very proud moment for me when I turn my chair around to find Uno and Dos working together to get Cuatro in his onsie and pj's. Cuatro was so good to let them nicely toss him around to accomplish their task at hand!

So they have mastered diapering, dressing, and feeding a baby. On to teaching them how to clean up after themselves.
